Adding or Editing Training Structure Items

Generate/savestructurebtn.gif

Generate/contentmenu_addstruct.gif

Use the Toolbar or the Content menu to add or edit the training structure for your lesson.

The editor is shown below. Training Structure items are settings that are not specific to a page of the training. Each is described at the end of this topic. Many of the items are text or tooltips for various options and labels. They are included to make it easy to customize your training or localize it into other languages. An example would be ExitBtn_Message. This is the message that is displayed when you click on the Exit button within the training. Other items are settings that control how your training works. For example, you can set the DisableMenu item to false if don't want the user to click on the menu button and see a popup list of page titles. You might do this for an exam to keep students from going out of sequence. Still others are related to question behavior such as AnswerGraphicStyle and UseResetButton.

It is important not to delete items without a detailed understanding of how they are used in Training Studio. You are welcome to add new items for you to reference in your templates.

All items can be edited or localized (put into other languages) except for those that have a value or true or false. In that case, those should remain in English to work properly.

Closing this screen will automatically save the database. You can then save the training structure to XML for use by your training application.

Name

Description

AddMultipleSourcesForStandardMedia*

true

Set this to true to have Training Studio add HTML for each type of media when it detects an HTML 5-capable browser. We highly recommend checking this box if you are deploying to multiple browsers and as audio and, in particular, video formats supported vary between browsers. To use this value successfully, we recommend including these file types for video: mp4, ogv, webm, and wmv. You can change the default to flv instead of wmv in the TrainingStudioSupport.js file if desired. For audio, we recommend including these file types: mp3, oga, and wav.

AnswerGraphicStyle

train

Many of the question templates can have graphics associated with each of the question states: initial, selected, correct, and incorrect. These graphics are located in the media directory. Training Studio determines which graphic to use by looking at the AnswerGraphicStyle setting. For example, an AnswerGraphicStyle of train means that these graphics are used: trainnormal, trainselected, traincorrect, and trainincorrect.

If the AnswerGraphicStyle is blank, then no answer graphics are used.

The extension used is determined by the answerGraphicExtension variable in TrainingStudioSupport.js.. If you don't want the user to be able to distinguish between correct and incorrect states, you can change these image files as well as the AnswersCorrectTextColor and AnswersIncorrectTextColor styles.
