Viewing Comments

Use the Toolbar or the View menu to display comments and, if desired, change their Active Status, Reviewer Category, Comment Category, Status, Description, Steps, or Action Taken.

 

You can move between comments via the toolbar at the top of the window or by clicking on a row in the grid. You may sort by any of the columns by clicking on the its column header. Each of the columns is explained below. You may edit the Active Status, Reviewer Category, Comment Category, Status, Description, Steps, or Action Taken. Changing any of these makes you the Administrator for that comment. Your administrator information is defined on the Configuration screen. Be sure to click the Save button after making any changes so that the new information is written to the web service. You will then see an results dialog that show you the status of the update. If it says something other "Update Successful," then contact your technical support department.

Columns

Description

Active

By default, all comments are active. Uncheck this box to make the comment inactive. This will keep it from showing up in many of the Defined Reports and Query Reports.

Application

This is the name of the application for which the comment applies. You can view all applications with comments if desired.

Reviewer

This is the reviewer who made the comment. You can see all contact information for reviewers who have submitted comments if desired.

Administrator

This is the person who has changed the Active Status, Reviewer Category, Comment Category, Status, Description, Steps, and/or Action Taken for this comment. If this is blank, then no one has edited this comment.

Reviewer Category

This shows the type of review being performed by the Reviewer. The options can be changed at the local level as part of the web service but are Instructor, Management, Safety, Student, Subject Matter Expert, Student, and Training Developer by default.

Comment Category

This shows the type of comment. The options can be changed at the local level as part of the web service but are Comment, Problem, and Suggestion by default.

Status

This is the current status of the comment. The options can be changed at the local level as part of the web service but are Closed, In Progress, Invalid, and Open by default. New comments are automatically open. You might change it to Closed once it is addressed.

Relative Page Number

This is the relative page number (1, 2, 3, etc.) in the training module (lesson) where the comment applies.

Database Page Number

This is the actual page number (10, 20, 30, etc.) in the training module (lesson) where the comment applies. This number can make it easier to find the comment in the Training Studio Content Editor. You can display this number on the various "Comments" reports on the Defined Reports and Query Reports screens.

Description

This is the comment description entered by the Reviewer.

Steps

These are the steps needed to recreate the issue entered by the Reviewer.

Action Taken

This is where the Administrator can document the actions taken to address the comment.
